Social Responsibility The
owners and staff of the Nguni Voyager are committed to the conservation of the
environment that we operate in. To
this end we work closely with the conservancies that we pass through or moor
in. We have negotiated long term leases for the land that use for our moorings
from the local communities. In addition to ensuring a long term revenue stream
for these communities, the Nguni helps with many day to day small projects. For
example, supplying cement and stone, and the transport thereof for the
villagers to line the fresh water wells that they rely on. We
are registered with the Namibian Tourism Board, hospitality Association of
Namibia, and work closely with Namibian Wildlife Authorities. We
firmly believe that the inhabitants of this magnificent Caprivi wilderness must
see tangible benefits from the visitors to their area, to encourage them to see
the long term benefits of preserving this unique environment and the life that
it contains. To
this end we only employ from the immediate vicinity, and are active in their
training and upliftment.
